Transborder criminality

Certain serious criminal offences are designated as 'transborder' offences that can make you inadmissible to Canada, including Criminal Code indictable offences, specific firearms offences, and customs offences involving prohibited goods such as child pornography, automatic weapons, or certain drugs. Being convicted of any offence on this list — whether in Canada or internationally — may bar you from entering.

(1)19 (1) For the purposes of subsection 36(2.1) of the Act, the prescribed offences are

(2)(2) For the purposes of paragraphs (1)(a) and (b), an offence that may be prosecuted either summarily or by way of indictment is deemed to be an offence punishable by way of indictment, even if it has been prosecuted summarily.
