CLB (Canadian Language Benchmarks) is the standard used by IRCC to assess language proficiency for immigration. Your CLB level directly determines your CRS points for Express Entry and whether you meet minimum requirements for programs like FSW, CEC, and FST.

Both IELTS General Training and CELPIP General are accepted for English. CELPIP is computer-based and uses Canadian English, while IELTS has a paper option and is accepted worldwide. Choose based on your comfort. For French, TEF Canada and TCF Canada are both accepted.

Yes. You can claim CRS points for both your first and second official language. Your stronger language counts as your first official language (up to 136 points) and the second language can add up to 24 additional CRS points.

Language test results are valid for 2 years from the date of the test. Your scores must be valid both when you submit your Express Entry profile and when you receive your Invitation to Apply (ITA).
