Creates the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class, the route for people already here who are married to or living with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. It is the reason you can be sponsored without leaving the country and waiting abroad.

Legal Text: IRPR Regulation 123

123 For the purposes of subsection 12(1) of the Act, the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class is hereby prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on the basis of the requirements of this Division.
