IRPRPART 4 ProceduresDIVISION 3 Conduct of Examination
r.51

Examination — permanent residents

🍁 In Simple Terms

The visa in your passport is not the last step. When you land you have to tell the officer if you married, separated or ended a relationship since it was issued, or if anything else material changed or was never disclosed. You also have to show that you and your family members, travelling with you or not, still meet the rules. This is where a quiet change of circumstance turns into a refusal at the airport.

Affects: Foreign nationals and permanent residents in Canada
