TEER 5 occupations do not qualify for FSW. With Canadian work experience, you may qualify for CEC. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) may have streams for this occupation.
This occupation does not currently map to IRCC's category-based draw criteria.
Canadian employers can obtain an LMIA to hire a foreign worker for this occupation.
Many provinces have PNP streams that accept TEER 5 occupations. Alberta, BC, Ontario, and other provinces run occupation-specific draws.
Official Definition
Student monitors, crossing guards and workers in related occupations supervise students to ensure their safety and monitor their behaviour during indoor or outdoor breaks and before and after school hours. School monitors are employed by public and private elementary and secondary schools. Crossing guards are employed by municipalities, public and private security agencies and schools.
TEER 5 Explained
Occupations typically requiring short work demonstration or no formal educational requirement. These include entry-level manual, service, and labour occupations. Not eligible for Express Entry FSW, but LMIA work permits and PNP streams may be available.
Pathway note: Even though this NOC doesn't qualify for Express Entry FSW, you may still immigrate via: Canadian Experience Class (after 1 year of Canadian work), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), or LMIA-based work permit with future PR pathway.
