Immigration Eligibility
TEER 4 occupations do not qualify for FSW. With Canadian work experience, you may qualify for CEC. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) may have streams for this occupation.
Canadian employers can obtain an LMIA to hire a foreign worker for this occupation.
Many provinces have PNP streams that accept TEER 4 occupations. Alberta, BC, Ontario, and other provinces run occupation-specific draws.
Official Definition
Data entry clerks input coded, statistical, financial and other information into computerized databases, spreadsheets or other templates using a keyboard, mouse, or optical scanner, speech recognition software or other data entry tools. They are employed in the private and public sectors.
TEER 4 Explained
Occupations typically requiring on-the-job training provided by the employer. These include many retail, service, and administrative support roles. Not eligible for Express Entry FSW, but CEC may apply with Canadian experience.
Pathway note: Even though this NOC doesn't qualify for Express Entry FSW, you may still immigrate via: Canadian Experience Class (after 1 year of Canadian work), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), or LMIA-based work permit with future PR pathway.
