Old arrest and detention paperwork did not have to be redone in 2002. A warrant or detention order made under the previous law simply reads as one made under the current Act. Officers and courts can act on it as it stands, which is a paperwork bridge rather than a new power.

Legal Text: IRPR Regulation 325
(1)A warrant for arrest and detention made under the former Act is a warrant for arrest and detention made under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Detention orders
(2)An order for the detention of a person made under the former Act is an order to detain made under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
