🍁 In Simple Terms

Once a removal order becomes enforceable (all appeals and stays are exhausted), the person must leave Canada immediately. The CBSA is legally obligated to enforce the order as soon as reasonably practicable. A person subject to an enforceable order must cooperate with departure arrangements.

Legal Text — IRPA Section 48

(1)A removal order is enforceable if it has come into force and is not stayed.

Effect

(2)If a removal order is enforceable, the foreign national against whom it was made must leave Canada immediately and the order must be enforced as soon as possible.
